Boston University’s Very Own Met Gala!

Updated: Mar 1, 2022

By: Alex Germain, Oura Miyazaki, & Amana Bhumitra

You’re invited to “be you” at BU Fashion and Retail association's first annual gala! F&R wants to give BU it’s very own MET Gala to dress up, socialize, and participate in activities. Join us on November 12th from 7pm to 10pm in GSU’s Metcalf Ballroom. Attire follows the theme: be you.

The gala will celebrate the release of the 2021 Fashion Show Documentary. The documentary features three F&R designers and their journey on creating pieces during the difficult times of the Covid-19 pandemic. You will be able to check out each designer’s piece showcased at the event. We will also be premiering our trailer for our 2022 Fashion Show: In the Shadow of the Street Lamp.

Take a sneak peek from the documentary:

Following the documentary, there will be an exhibition featuring designers works! You will be able to meet the student designers, and ask them questions about their creations.

There will also be fun activities for you and your friends, such as a photo booth, ring making table, and champagne glass decorating.

Finally, we will be holding a raffle during the gala, with prizes kindly donated by our sponsors. Holdette Suits will be raffling off a free two piece suit, Dellaria Salons will be raffling off hair care products, samples, and a discount for their salons, and much more!

Tickets are on sale online, $15 each, and all BU students can attend! The link to buy tickets is here.

Be unique, and interpret the theme “be you” in your own way. We can't wait to see you showcase your style.
